A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
Five years ago, I started PRAISENME out of pure wonder for what was possible. I’ve loved skincare from a young age, ever since my aunty — who owns a beauty salon — introduced me to it. I grew up surrounded by women: my mum, nan, and aunties — all of them with timeless beauty. I was obsessed with the skincare and makeup products they used, and still to this day, I sneak into my mum’s bathroom to use hers.
I’ve always believed in quality, but I’ve also believed that simple does the trick. So I created a line of products that does both — simple, effective, and high quality. Making the native botanicals of Aotearoa the stars of my products was never a second thought. I spend a lot of time in the ngahere, and I truly believe in the power our native plants hold. They heal, nourish, and hydrate our skin better than anything else — because they know our skin and were left here for us to care for, and to use.
So what drives me? My ultimate goal is to see more Māori and Polynesian women represented in mainstream beauty — and to share our beauty with Te Ao. We have naturally beautiful skin, hair, and bodies, and a unique way of life and culture to celebrate. I want to see our products sitting on shelves beside the big skincare brands, so there are options for us — skincare that speaks to our values, our beauty, and our skin.
